Mercury was dignified by domicile in Gemini recently and I used the opportunity to create some Mercury Talismans for Knowledge and Wisdom that I am offering here for sale. The chart for this election is below.
The election and creation
Mercury is culminating in his own sign of Gemini. It is Mercury hour, and Mercury makes an applying conjunction to Venus. The Moon is peregrine and she makes an applying sextiles to Mercury and to the benefic Venus.
The ritual invocation of Mercury and the consecration of the talisman occurred during Mercury hour, and the images and sigils were engraved on a 25×18 green agate cabochon, a stone associated with Mercury, when Mercury was conjunct the Midheaven.
The back of the talisman bears the Seal of Mercury from Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy and the symbol of Mercury. The front of the talisman bears the sigils of Tiriel, the Intelligence of Mercury, and Taphthatharath, the Spirit of Mercury, all of whom were invoked in its creation.
What are Mercury Talismans good for?
Agrippa tells us that a Mercury talisman “confers knowledge, eloquence, diligence in merchandising and gain; moreover to beget peace and concord, and to cure fevers…” – Henry Cornelius Agrippa. Book 2, Chapter 43, Three Books of Occult Philosophy translated by Joseph H Peterson.
William Lilly tells us that a person with a strong Mercury is “a man of a subtil and politick brain, intellect, and cogitation; an excellent disputant or logician, arguing with learning and discretion, and using much eloquence in his speech, a searcher into all kinds of mysteries and learning, sharp and witty, learning almost anything without a teacher; ambitious of being exquisite in every science, desirous naturally of travel and seeing foreign parts: a man of an unwearied fancy, curious in the search of any occult knowledge; able by his own genius to produce wonders; given to divination and the more secret knowledge; if he turn merchant, no man exceeds him in a way of trade or invention of new ways whereby to obtain wealth.”

How they work
Celestial talismans created during an elected time when the planetary force is particularly potent are batteries of intelligent energy animated by the Angel or Intelligence who rules that celestial object. One can think of them as physical embodiments of the virtue of a particular planet or star and carrying the talisman imbues the wearer with the virtue. In this instance, Mercury imbues the bearer of the talisman with wisdom and intelligence and all things rules by Mercury as described above.
