A Saturn in Aquarius talisman election

This is a rather pleasant (well, about a pleasant as Saturn is likely to get) election to create a Saturn talisman.  Saturn is never going to be an easy planet to deal with, but it is my experience that Saturn in Aquarius is a little easier to manage than Saturn in Capricorn.

In this election we have Saturn just separating from an aspect to one benefic (a trine to Venus) and joining another (a conjunction to Jupiter).   Just as leaving a great party to visit a good friend can put us in a pleasant mood, these aspects can help to mitigate the more troublesome influence of the Greater Malefic.

That said, Saturn is still Saturn and he is significator of isolation, melancholy, asceticism, and ruler over  scholars, monks, and those who spend time in deep study.  If that sounds like your cup of Earl Grey, then Saturn is your man; if a couple of weeks of social distancing is going to make you put a gun to your head, you probably want to avoid him entirely.

The Election

The time is 0406 (4:06AM) on 5 April 2020.  The place is London, UK.

Saturn is rising in the first degree of Aquarius.  Saturn is just separating from a trine to Venus, and Jupiter makes an out-of-sign applying conjunction to Saturn.  The Moon is waxing and in her triplicity in Virgo.  Saturn hour is between 0347 and 0442.

Ritual suggestions

You would follow the usual procedures for creating talismans described in the Picatrix, in Agrippa, on this site, and elsewhere.  Start by choosing an appropriate gem or metal, compose a suitable incense, and at the elected time engrave the chosen image and say your prayers to Saturn, remembering to suffumigate the talisman once it has been consecrated.

The difficult thing with Saturn is choosing a goal that is truly worthy of this planet’s august nature.  The Picatrix suggests an image to be able to drink as much as we want and to die only of old age.  The Greater Key of Solomon has pentacles for striking terror into spirits, to chase away spirits who guard treasures, to curse enemies and to cause earthquakes.  I hope you use this election for something slightly more profound than getting drunk, scaring the bejesus out of spirits and blowing shit up.  If you do, feel free to let me know.  If you’d like to create a Saturn talisman and want me to elect a suitable time for your location, you can order an election from here.
