Aries Ingress 2019

What the Aries Ingress chart is

The Aries Ingress is one of the fundamental tools of mundane astrology, the branch of traditional astrology which aims to determine the influence of the planets on the earth in general, such as weather, disease, famine, war, and the affairs of a country in particular.  A chart is drawn up for a particular location for the moment the Sun enters 0′ Aries and this chart is interpreted according to the rules of mundane astrology.  Further charts are required if we have a cardinal or mutable sign rising.

The Aries Ingress chart, which looks at planetary influences for a year at most, is only one of many charts used in a hierarchy of charts, which Bonatti gives as follows.

1. The Greater Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the first bound or degree of Aries, whose influence lasts 960 years
2. The Greater Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the first bound or degree of a new triplicity, which occurs every 240 years and marks a significant shift in the affairs of the world.
3. The Conjunction of Saturn and Mars in the first degree or bound of Cancer.  (These were seen as particularly malefic since both malefics are ill dignified in Cancer)
4. The Greater Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn which occurs every 20 years

These are followed by the Aries Ingress chart and then the Sun-Moon conjunctions that occur each month. Other charts that would need to be considered would be the charts of eclipses occurring within a year of the Aries Ingress.

In this instance, since we have a mutable sign rising in the Aries Ingress chart for the USA, it is only valid for a period of approximately 6 months.

 

1^st house – the people

We have Virgo rising.  Mercury therefore is the significator of the people of the United States.  Mercury is in in his terms but – more worryingly – is in detriment and fall.  Mercury is also retrograde and under the beams.  Mercury is in about as bad a condition as it gets with only the mild dignity from being in his terms giving Mercury just enough strength to cling on to life.

The Sun rules the 12^th house of enemies and Mercury being under beams may suggest that some harm comes to the people from secret and hidden enemies of the people.  These enemies are extremely powerful, as the Sun is exalted in the Aries ingress, and the Sun is general significator for powerful people.  On the plus side, Mercury is separating from conjunction with the Sun so this influence is gradually lessening.

More immediately, Mercury is in the 7^th house of open enemies and afflicted by the Lord of the 7^th house, a very strong Jupiter who is in the detriment of Mercury, who signifies the open enemies of the people, neighbouring countries and partnerships with other countries, from the land and environment itself, as well as the opposition party, the DNC et al.  This likely indicates further curtailment of the freedom of the people through the actions of the opposition party as harm arising from the open enemies of the people which include neighbouring countries.  These actions may have had their origin prior to the Aries Ingress since the square aspect from Jupiter is separating.

Mercury makes an applying conjunction to Neptune which indicates some harm coming to the people from deceit, treachery or some sort of secret action.  In a visual sense, since the 7^th house indicates the “edge of the kingdom, this aspect may suggest a people focussed on the issue of their increasingly porous border.

10^th house – the President and the ruling party

We have Gemini on the Midheaven and so Mercury is the significator of the President and the ruling party.  All of the negatives of Mercury discussed above also apply here and this can suggest some considerable difficulty to the ruling party and the President over the next 6 months.

We may see difficulties arising from disputed with neighbouring countries and countries involved in trade partnerships, as well as from the actions of the opposition party.  We can see this from the separating square to Mercury from a very strong Jupiter (ruler of the 4^th and 7^th houses) and from Mercury escaping the Sun’s beams as the Sun is significator of secret enemies as he rules the 12^th house.  There is an applying conjunction to Neptune which may indicate some event in the future which harms the GOP and the President.  Ultimately this does not presage a positive future for the GOP and the President over the next 6 months.

2^nd house – economy

With Libra on the 2^nd house cusp, Venus is significator of the economy.  Venus is peregrine in the cadent 6^th house.  The economy is not particularly strong and there may be some challenge it to it very shortly after the Aries Ingress as a very malefic Mars in his own detriment makes an applying square to Venus (within 1 degree).  This challenge to the economy may arise from economic actions of other countries, taxes or via domestic travel and transport systems, the media or the internet and through legal action.  However, Venus is supported by a sextile from a very powerful Jupiter which may mitigate this harmful influence to some considerable degree.  Venus also enters Pisces where she is exalted in the following month when there may be some improvements in the economy.

4^th house – the opposition party, DNC et al; the land itself

Sagittarius is on the IC and so the opposition party are signified by Jupiter is very strong in its own house and angular in the 4^th house.  This puts the opposition party in a very strong place, however Jupiter goes retrograde shortly after the Aries Ingress on April 30 which will likely see some of the momentum from the first month stall and we will see them retrace their steps.  Jupiter will be retrograde for all but the first few weeks and the last few week or so of the 6 months covered by the Aries Ingress.  This indicated that the opposition party is extremely powerful over the next 6 months but they may not be focussing on beneficial things that strengthen their party during this time.  The retrograde motion of Jupiter suggests a powerful opposition engaged in pursuits that are ultimately destructive.

5^th house – media, entertainment, diplomats, etc

Capricorn is on the cusp of the 5^th house.  Saturn, signifcator of the media and entertainment industry, is strong in his own sign and conjunct the 5^th house cusp.  Saturn makes an applying conjunction to Pluto and although this conjunction does not perfect until 2020, we may still see signs of this influence in the next 6 months.  Saturn also applies to conjunction with the malefic south node.  The media influence is likely to be strong and constricting – we will likely see more banning of books, deplatforming and shadowbanning of those with an other-than-establishment point of view.

6^th house – health of the nation, healthcare

With Aquarius on the cusp of the 6^th house, Saturn is significator of the health of the nation.  A strong Saturn here can indicate that the people suffer due to ailments associated with cold.  However Venus on cusp gives some relief.

9^th house – law, judiciary, international affairs, international travel

Taurus is on the cusp of the 9^th house.  Venus is peregrine in the sixth house.  Venus is squared by a very angry Mars who is the 9^th house.  This may indicate some conflict or contention within law enforcement agencies and the judiciary very soon after the ingress of the Sun into Aries.  The sextile between Venus and Jupiter suggest some collaboration with the DNC, open enemies of the people, and law enforcement in whatever event this presages.

12^th house – secret enemies

Leo is on the cusp of the 12^th house and secret enemies and hidden plots are signified by the Sun who is exalted and in the 7^th house of the enemies of the people.  There is likely to be  extremely strong opposition from secret enemies, intelligence agencies, etc which has a considerable impact on the people of the United States as well as the President and the GOP.  The Sun makes an applying opposition to the Moon who signifies government officials and we may see some confrontation between members of the government and these hidden enemies in the next 6 months.

Scorpio is on the ascendant.  As a fixed sign rises, this chart holds for the whole year until the next ingress of the Sun into Aries.

1^st house – the people

Mars signifies the people of the United Kingdom and the condition of Mars and his aspects will describe the state of the people and the events that affect them.  Mars is peregrine and in detriment in 7^th house of open enemies.  This suggest some harm coming to the people through neighbouring countries, the EU, as well as from the hidden influence of secret enemies since Venus, the ruler of the 7th house, is also ruler of the 12^th house.  This also signifies that the mind of the people will be very much on negotiations with neighbouring countries (e.g., the EU) over the next year.

10^th house – the Prime Minister; the ruling party coalition

Leo is on the cusp of the midheaven and the Sun is therefore the significator of the Prime Minister and the Conservative-DUP party coalition.  The Sun is exalted in the 5^th house.  This suggests a ruling party in a very strong position.  There is an applying opposition between the Sun and the Moon which suggest some conflict between the ruling party and other countries or some sort of legal challenges perhaps brought on by other members of the government since the Moon is conjunct the 11^th house cusp.

On the matter of other members of PM May’s government, they seem to be in poor condition with Mercury, significator of the 11^th house, being under beams, in detriment and fall and applying to conjoin Neptune, planet of deceit, treachery, and illusion.  Perhaps we shall see some more resignations this year.

2^nd house – economy, wealth, prosperity of nation

Sagittarius is on the cusp and we have Jupiter here strong in his own sign, very strong.  This suggests a very strong economy, although there may be some issues in April through to August while Jupiter is retrograde.

4^th house – opposition party, land itself

With Aquarius on the cusp, Saturn is significator of the Labour party.  Saturn here is strong but he is applying to conjunction with Pluto and the South Node which makes them powerful but not always for good.  We might see the Labour party pushing for actions which are contrary to the greater good.  Venus conjunct the IC provides some support to the Labour party however Venus is Lady of the 7^th and 12^th houses so the support is likely going to be from questionable sources at odds with the will of the people.

7^th house – open enemies, partners, neighbouring countries

As Taurus is on the cusp of the 7^th house, Venus is significator of the neighbouring countries, countries involved in trade partnerships with the UK, open enemies, and the EU in particular.  Venus is peregrine and angular conjunct the 4^th house cusp.  Mars in detriment in the 7^th house suggests this is likely to be an area of great contention over the next year.
